Having worked ten years in the North Carolina public school system, I am keenly aware of the necessary components needed to complete both DSM-IV-TR evaluations and NCDPI evaluations that meet eligibility requirements. My training and experience in the areas of exceptional children and school law and polices allow me to take a different approach to assessment, one that reflects the needs of physicians, teachers, parents, and IEP Teams. This in turn, decreases friction between physicians, parents, and school personnel and helps create a unified front in helping children receive the best possible services.
I am well trained to assess and provide consultative and therapy services. My area of interests, experience, and expertise include autism, low-functioning children, nonverbal children, medically involved children, and learning disabilities/disorders. In addition to diagnostic services, I provide auditing of school records, individual therapy, Response-to-Intervention Training, and consultation in Functional Behavior Assessments, Communication-Based Intervention, Applied Behavior Analysis, Facilitated Communication, as well as other areas.
I accept:
- Blue Cross Blue Shield (in and out of state)
- NC Health Choice
