Eastern North Carolina Public School Services

Far too often psychologists who are not in the education field give assessments that are incomplete and write reports that are confusing. Clinical psychologists often make statements that are based on DSM-IV-TR criteria and not on the guidelines set up by NCDPI. Often their recommendations are inappropriate, causing much difficulty for IEP Teams and confusion and distrust in parents. This, in turn, creates unnecessary friction between school personnel and parents.

I am a school psychologist and Licensed Psychological Associate who is seeking contract services in eastern North Carolina schools. Having worked ten years in the North Carolina public school system, I am keenly aware of the necessary components needed to complete NCDPI eligibility requirements. My training and experience in the areas of exceptional children and school law and polices allow me to take a different approach to assessment, one that reflects the needs of teachers, parents, and IEP Teams.

I am well trained to assess and provide consultative services in all permitted areas of NCDI eligibility. My area of interests, experience, and expertise include autism, low-functioning children, nonverbal children, learning disabled, and medically involved children. In addition to diagnostic services, I provide auditing of records, Response-to-Intervention Training, and consultation in Functional Behavior Assessments, Communication-Based Intervention, Facilitated Communication, Applied behavior Analysis, as well as other areas.

Please contact me if you are interested in discussing the psychological contract services I provide. Costs for services are provided on request.
